Weekend Edition

3 pumpkins decorI’m really looking forward to this weekend. Not only do I get extra time off work but the next few days will be filled with an abundance of the most delicious homemade food shared with family and friends. These are definitely things which I’m very thankful for! I also want to pass my thanks to all of you who read my blog and share my experiences. And in my gratitude, I’m sharing links to my favourite recipes. I hope you enjoy!

  •  I’m obsessed with Donna Hay and her recipes. I own quite a few of her cookbooks and have dipped into them often. Her turkey and stuffing recipe is mouthwatering from photo to finish.
  • The easiest recipes are usually the most delicious and Sam Linsell‘s perfect crispy roast potatoes fit the bill nicely. I pinned them to my Pinterest board and have used it so many times I could do it blind folded.
  • If you love pumpkin flavour but have grown tired of the typical pie brought out after Thanksgiving dinner, then I have the most sinfully decadent dessert for you. Alida Ryder shares her gran’s recipe for pumpkin fritters with a sticky caramel sauce. Try it, you’ll thank me!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Weekend Edition

Illy coffee cupsI’ve been really enjoying sharing my posts with all of you. What you’ve seen are definitely my favourite moments, restaurants, events, and websites. I hope you’ve enjoyed them as well.  Here are a few more things that are making their way onto “My Favourites” list.

  • I’m always on the lookout for great coffee shops where I can indulge my tastes in the caffeinated beverage. The next time I find myself in New York, I will call on this list from Trottermag to visit some of the city’s amazing cafes.
  • If I had an ounce of baking skills (or patience for that matter) I would bump this Chili & Tonka coffee and ganache macaron recipe to the top of my dessert repertoire. Scroll past the mouthwatering images and Polish text to find the English translation.
  • And if you haven’t had enough coffee images or recipes check out my Coffee Pinterest board for more inspiration!

Weekend Edition

Feet resting on a chair in the Tuileries ParisThere is no one I’d rather spend my weekends with than the boy whose feet walk beside me through life, in this country or any other. Most of our memorable moments have taken place in Paris (as has this photo) so I wanted to share some of my weekend links to reflect that fabulous place.

  • Fashion moves quickly these days. Last week I shared Tommy Ton‘s photos from Milan. Now he’s in Paris for Fashion Week documenting inspiring street styles from around the city.
  • The lovely Christine Kim documents her passion for Paris in a wonderful photo blog that makes me want to jump on a bicycle and pedal around the city until I run out of breath. You may want to follow my example after you see her tour of Montmartre.
  • If France had afternoon tea, scones would turn into madeleines and we’d all be happier for it. This recipe by Veronika Studer looks beautiful both for her baking skills and those behind the camera.

Weekend Edition

Lilac rosesI’m planning on a very busy weekend. There will be no time for lounging in bed or even stopping to smell the roses (no matter how gorgeous!). I hope you all take advantage of this weekend as well to engage in something adventurous. But if you’ve been busy all week and prefer to stay in, here are a few links you will enjoy. So kick up your feet, you deserve it!

  • Fashion Week has moved to Europe. Style abounds at the shows and on the streets of Milan. There is no one better to give an insider’s view than Canada’s own Tommy Ton. Mamma mia!
  • Scrolling through Laura Wright‘s post on a “really good tomato soup” I not only found a great soup recipe, but also a reflection on living a life that’s more engaged. Slow down and enjoy every step in the journey…my sentiment exactly!
  • Beth Kirby is another blogger who finds joy in the little things, the perfection of imperfection. She recently ran a workshop called “Gathering from Scratch” and looking at all those photos made me want to call all my family and friends for a reunion under the sky.
