Although the shop has now closed down, Bud Gowan Antiques was London Ontario’s magical place of curiosities curated by an even more extraordinary man. The intricate facade of the Clarence Street storefront calls out to those strolling by but, to me, the tiny hat is the cherry on top.

A City Oasis
“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.”
― Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden
This beautiful garden is hidden in plain sight in the heart of London. If you are looking for a great place to read a book, enjoy a coffee or seek an escape from a hectic day, all you need to do is visit the Central Library…ask one of the friendly staff and they will be happy to point you in the right direction.
Fire Roasted
This little chocolate gem is a watermelon truffle from the charming and cozy Fire Roasted Cafe in London Ontario. Not a combination of flavours that I would normally gravitate to, but I was feeling a bit adventurous. Verdict – delicious! A smooth dark chocolate centre held surprising bursts of sour watermelon flavour. I think it woke me up more than the cappuccino I ordered alongside. It’s my new favourite way to start a morning.
